We recently learned that the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) will honor Northeast Delta Dental when NEBHE holds its 11th annual New England Higher Education Excellence Awards celebration on Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf hotel in Boston.

More than 400 people attend this event, including leaders of education, business and government from across the six New England states. Since 1955 NEBHE, with core functions that include programs and services focused on affordability and college access and policy leadership on key issues related to education and best practices, has promoted greater educational opportunities for residents of New England.

Northeast Delta Dental is the recipient of NEBHE’s 2013 New Hampshire State Merit Award.  Previously, Northeast Delta Dental was awarded a New Hampshire Partners in Education Gold Circle Award in 2011 and a New Hampshire Scholars Business Champion Award in 2012 for its commitment to Granite State schools.

Northeast Delta Dental, as driven by its values, invests in the communities it serves with long-term relationships with educational institutions and programs such as the Community Colleges of NH Foundation, Early Learning NH, various Community Music Schools, Manchester School System (City Year), New England League of Middle Schools, NH Institute of Art, New Hampshire State Scholars, NHTI – Concord’s Community College, Plymouth State University, and Southern NH Services (B.R.I.N.G. I.T. program).  In keeping with Northeast Delta Dental’s oral health mission, our largest investment in higher education was a $2.3 million gift to the University of New England, which will open its College of Dental Medicine, the first in northern New England, in the fall of 2013.
