October is National Dental Hygiene Month. With Halloween right around the corner and candy as the typical reward for Trick-or-Treating youngsters, please remember to help your children exercise their good dental hygiene routine. While occasional sweet treats are okay, be sure to follow up afterwards with good oral health cleaning measures. Children should floss daily and brush every morning and night and especially after eating sugary goodies. Attention to dental hygiene is important to maintaining a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Start out right by taking your child to visit the dentist twice a year beginning at 12 months of age or as soon as the first tooth emerges.
