Dental Coverage: A Prevention Model

One of the key shifts in health care is a changing focus from treatment of disease to prevention and wellness programs. Dental coverage has long been at the forefront of prevention-based care, with dentists encouraging regular check-ups to their patients. Compared to primary care physicians, dental offices do a better job of promoting prevention-based care, for example, before you leave from an appointment with your dentist, most dental offices will send you home with a date for your next regular check-up.
