For more than a decade, Northeast Delta Dental has presented The Granite State Baseball Dinner, an annual charitable event benefiting The Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD), New Hampshire’s only comprehensive full-service children’s hospital, and the Fisher Cats Foundation, a statewide charitable organization that provides scholarships to college-bound New Hampshire and Massachusetts high school student athletes. And despite a looming global pandemic, 2021’s Granite State Baseball Dinner was a roaring success, thanks to the support of community partners, guests, and generous donors.
All-time Major League Baseball hits leader Pete Rose made his first appearance at the annual charity dinner, and signed autographs for three hours before entertaining fans with stories from his historic playing career. Rose was later joined by Red Sox legends Luis Tiant, Rico Petrocelli, Dick Drago, Bernie Carbo, and Rich Gedman, along with 1968 MVP Denny McLain. By the end of the event, The Fisher Cats were proud to donate over $77,000 to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the Fisher Cats Foundation, proceeds that will create dozens of educational scholarships and innovative high-quality family and patient-centered care.
“It was great to be back. There was an extra buzz in the air this year with Pete Rose. We loved seeing everyone return to this great event,” excitedly shares Stephanie Fournier, New Hampshire Fisher Cats Director of Special Events.
Amazingly, The Granite State Baseball Dinner has generated more than $1.75 million since its inception and Northeast Delta Dental is grateful for the continued support of its community and looks forward to generating more change across New Hampshire. We are excited to continue to demonstrate examples of what happens when communities come together to make a difference for the good of others. We invite you to join us and be the change you hope to see.
