The Granite State Baseball Dinner is one of my favorite annual events. While virtual this year, this annual event maintained its support of two incredible organizations: the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD), New Hampshire’s only comprehensive full-service children’s hospital and the Fisher Cats Foundation, a statewide charitable organization that provides scholarships to college-bound youth in addition to supporting youth programs that encourage education and promote healthy living throughout the state.
“Over 95,000 children in New Hampshire and Vermont seek our care and your help is what allows us to deliver the most up-to-date and high-quality family and patient-centered care,” shared Dr. Keith Loud, Chair Pediatrics and Physician-in-Chief of CHaD.
The NH Fisher Cats commitment to our state is unwavering and I am delighted to share that since Northeast Delta Dental and the NH Fisher Cats took over this dinner in 2007, nearly 2 million dollars has been raised for CHaD and the Fisher Cats Foundation. Not only have we been able to consistently give back to the community, but we have created opportunities like educational scholarships in the process.
In addition to catching up with baseball celebrities like Red Sox pitching legend, Luis Tiant, we had the pleasure of hearing the owner of the Fisher Cats, Art Solomon, speak: “Despite the challenges of 2020, we wanted to host The Granite State Baseball Dinner once again to keep this great tradition going. We get to host these incredible celebrities and professional athletes and support organizations that do amazing work in the state of New Hampshire and throughout the region. When I acquired the team over 15 years ago, I promised that in addition to bringing highly competitive and excellent professional baseball to New Hampshire and parts of Massachusetts and Vermont as well, that I’d also commit to being a real part of the community and nights like tonight help me keep that promise. Tom Raffio is a great friend and could not be a better partner.”
Your giving can make more of a difference this year than ever. I invite you to support these organizations so they in turn, can help others.
