What a glorious day today is, and how fortunate are we to live in the United States of America. This one day, Memorial Day, is set aside as a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice – their lives – while in service to our country. My dad, who proudly served in the US Navy during World War II, was one of the lucky ones who returned home to his family, but we all know someone who did not come back from war. Flags fly at half staff at dawn in memory of those who died, and then fly at full staff from noon on to demonstrate our resolve to continue their quest for liberty and justice for all. Take a moment today with your family and friends to remember all the brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who made it possible for us to live in the land of the free, home of the brave. God bless America!
