My closest friend, Barbara McLaughlin, retired today, April 5, 2013, from Northeast Delta Dental in her 27th year of dedicated service to the corporation and, more importantly, to me. I will miss Barbara immensely as she was a huge part of my success here at Northeast Delta Dental, and I am forever grateful. She was here in the Office of the President since 1987, before I arrived in 1995, and has been my “go to” person ever since for the past 18 years.
Barbara stood by me through thick and thin, believing in my vision and rallying the troops to jump on board. She was my confidante, my sounding board, providing wise counsel with always my best interests in her heart. Any CEO would be lucky to have such a solid, honest, loyal colleague by their side, and anybody would be fortunate to be able to call Barbara their friend.
Lucky for me, Barbara and I have been collaborating on a book, currently titled “When There Are No Do-Overs” and so our paths will continue on life’s journey together as we’re on the verge of publishing our book. But Northeast Delta Dental is losing a legend in the workplace; her legacy is solid, solid as she.
With gratitude, I’m wishing her best of luck as she joins her husband in retirement.
