Thoughts on the New Year

What a great weekend for skiing with fresh powder on the mountains! A positive sign for the economy, people were out in droves on the slopes. I am ever optimistic that increasing consumer confidence forecasts future improvement for the New Year and a corresponding reduction in unemployment.

December 31 is a time to look back and forward at the same time. My New Year’s resolutions include spending more time with family and enjoying life, continue to stay fit, learn something new every day, continue to help others, and get my life in order. I vow to reconnect with old friends and nurture the relationships that matter in my life. The future is bright!

What are your New Year’s resolutions for 2011?

My New Year’s resolutions for 2011 are a continuation from 2010. I’ve had success in 2010 by putting myself first. Sounds easy however, it’s taken me a long time to do. Good (unprocessed) food, the right portion size, exercise every day and taking time for myself have helped me improve my health so far. I’m looking forward to a healthier year in 2011.

    Hi Cathy:

Excellent focus for 2011 — I know it can be difficult to focus on oneself, given the responsibilities of children, spouse, work and external commitments. Of course, though, unless you are healthy and happy, you are less effective for others, so, in effect, it’s actually a non selfish thing to do to make sure you take time for yourself. I need to follow this advice myself. Thank you for sharing Cathy. Tom R.
