Dad

At the one year anniversary of my father’s passing, I pause to let my mind wander. I realized at my dad’s funeral that it’s not the big newsworthy accomplishments that bring meaning to life, but the everyday little things that make the difference. It’s a solitary act in a moment, the simplest gesture or kind word that can be the catalyst in someone’s life to bolster them forward. The amazing thing is, it’s a moment you won’t even remember but that one person will never forget. Life is not a race to see who gets to the finish line first; it is how you get there. If your mom or dad or both are still living, pick up the phone right now while you can and tell them how much you love them.
