Celebrating Dental Assistants

“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” – H.E. Luccock

When I walk into my dental provider’s office I am always greeted by a relaxed, organized environment where everyone is working diligently to make patients feel welcome as they receive the care they need. It can be easy to forget the amount of time and effort, by so many, that goes into making that the common patient experience.

Dental assistants play a critical role in a dental clinic’s ability to serve their patients and in overall patient satisfaction, performing a variety of tasks to support dentists and dental hygienists. They support the overall health of so many of our community members, helping to ensure that procedures run smoothly, and that patients receive the highest quality care and follow-up.

I say all of this to call attention to Dental Assistants Recognition Week™. Even though the week is nearing its end, we are joining in the celebration of this vital part of the dental team. The dental assistant community is thousands strong and we hope to see this number grow in efforts to support workforce sustainability happening across New Hampshire, understanding that a provider needs their support staff to be successful in what they do and to provide quality care to their patients.

I encourage you to take a moment the next time you are in the office to thank your dental assistant for their hard work. If you are in the dental community, thank your dental assistants for their support in serving your customers’ needs.

Thank you to our dedicated dental community, and thank you to all Dental Assistants for the work they do to support patient care.
