Northeast Delta Dental Sponsors: NHBCA’s 37th Annual Arts Awards

Every year since 1985, the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA) has held its signature event, the Annual Arts Awards, where businesses of every shape and size have been recognized for their contributions to arts and culture in the Granite State.

Microenterprise nominees included: Kelley Stelling Contemporary, Ruffner Real Estate, and Twiggs Gallery.

Small Business Nominees included: Constantly Pizza, Gibson’s Bookstore, Sawbelly Brewing, and Tiny Bully.

Artrepreneur Nominees included: James Chase, Thomas Devaney, Richard Haynes, Sumeet Mehta, and Andrew Pinard.

I’m proud to have been an MC in 2021 as we came together virtually for the NHBCA’s 37th Annual Arts Awards to celebrate nominees and award winners. We experienced augmented reality (AR) first-hand through the viewing of “Hidden in Plain Sight,” a film by New Hampshire Dance Collaborative (NHDC) representing NHBCA’s vision to highlight the important role art plays in the local economy.

“We are thrilled to present New Hampshire Dance Collaborative’s 2021 film “Hidden in Plain Sight” which is a representation of the NHBCA’s vision for an artistic statement on the invisible yet powerful role that creative energy and artistic expression play in our local economy,” noted the NHBCA. This commitment to local creative economies comes alive in the Upper Valley, Manchester, Portsmouth, and the White Mountains, where 3-D AR models of original artwork by four New Hampshire artists are available to view: Roger Goldenberg of Lebanon, Nathan Macomber of Conway, Laura Morrison of Concord and Marta Spendowska of Dover.

Northeast Delta Dental is also proud to be the sponsor of the NHBCA Artsbuild Community Award. The award was established in 2020 to recognize organizations for their power in building community through collaboration in the arts. Last year’s recipient is The Performing Arts Venues Group. This is a phenomenal group of people and venues throughout the state of NH who worked together at the most difficult time in recent memory to keep the arts available to the citizens of NH when they needed it the most.

I stated during the show- “It would be an understatement to say there has been a lot of change over the past year. Despite all of the challenges, there’s much to celebrate tonight as we recognize many individuals, businesses, and organizations for their contributions to the state’s art scene ….”

NHBCA was formed to educate, motivate and recognize business support of and participation in the arts. The NHBCA promotes the connection between the business and arts communities and believes that the two go hand-in-hand, therefore they should be celebrated together. Collaboration is a key factor to finding creative solutions. We invite you to enjoy the 2021show for yourself here.

Watch for news on this year’s NHBCA’s 38th Annual Arts Awards as Northeast Delta Dental will once again be a proud, leading sponsor. It will be on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown.
