Take Out Hunger with Northeast Delta Dental

It truly takes a village to accomplish the work we do at Northeast Delta Dental. And that rings true at local organization Take Out Hunger, who compensates local restaurants to prepare nutritious meals that are then delivered to local nonprofits where meals are distributed how they’re needed the most.

Did you know that a projected 51,000 additional people are food insecure and in total more than 181,090 across the state? And in New Hampshire alone, an estimated 21-23% of children are living in food insecure environments due to COVID-19. According to this study by Feeding America, people continue to face such disparities.

As the number of neighbors that need food assistance continues to grow, we decided to partner with Take Out Hunger. Much like access to quality oral health care, access to a healthy meal is all the more critical. We’re excited that our support of Take Out Hunger generated more than 100 meals for those in need!

Helen Crowe of Portsmouth, co-founder of Take Out Hunger, shared these words in a statement:

“I was concerned about the impact of COVID on the local restaurants and also concerned about the growing issue of food insecurity. It makes perfect sense to pair supporting restaurants with feeding the hungry.”
