The running community came together

The events in Boston demonstrate the worst and best in people. The two people who set the bombs in motion, for whatever reason, had no respect for human life, and didn’t care about killing or maiming innocent people. On the other end of the spectrum, the first responders and law enforcement officials were/are amazing, as were many everyday citizens who helped the injured and helped law enforcement. Our prayers go out to the victims of the senseless violence, and also to their loved ones who are impacted as well. I have had a knot in my stomach since the Boston Marathon, and I found the best way to deal with this struggle was being with other runners at a couple of races — Friday, April 19, at the NHTI campus in Concord, and Red’s Race in Dover, on Sunday, April 21. Thoughtful moments of silence for the victims of the tragedy preceded each of these races, and the running community came together. Thoughts and prayers to Boston.
