The 2012 B2B was held on August 4 and it was another great turnout. Over 6,000 runners from all across the country along with international competitors made up the field in this year’s 15th annual event. It’s a 6.2 mile run in Cape Elizabeth, Maine starting at Crescent Beach and ending at the Portland Head Light. I did a 54:20.5, or an 8:45 mile pace.
You might be interested to know the run was founded by Joan Benoit Samuelson, 1984 Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist. Each year a Maine-based non-profit youth organization is chosen as a beneficiary, and this year the Center for Grieving Children received a $30,000 donation.
