Last week at a national Delta Dental conference I had the great fortune to listen to Marshall Goldsmith, named one of the most-respected executive coaches by Forbes and a top-ten executive educator by the Wall Street Journal. He was terrific on such topics as CEO Succession planning (the key being, is the CEO him/herself ready to step down) and how successful people become even more successful. Toward that end, I highly recommend two of Goldsmith’s books (he has written many): What Got You Here, Won’t Get You There. In this book, you’ll uncover your annoying habits and confront them, and discover the 20 workplace habits you need to break. I really enjoyed this book; I couldn’t put it down. The second book, Succession, Are You Ready? is really for any executive who is contemplating or precontemplating retirement, a must read. Hope these recommendations help you. Tom Raffio
